Voices of North Georgia is proud to sponsor the Baumgardner Scholarship Award, an annual scholarship created to help further the education of area high school students interested in pursuing a career in Vocal Performance or Vocal Education.
The scholarship was created in memory and honor of Dr. Kenneth Baumgardner. Dr. Baumgardner was a charter member of the Gainesville Chorale and remained involved with the group throughout his life. He served as a professor in the music department at Brenau University for many years, and is quite a legend in the Gainesville/Hall County area.
Qualifications for the scholarship award include a written application including a brief essay describing why the student is interested in pursuing a degree in music, a listing of musical accomplishments and awards received, as well as their GPA and SAT scores.
The award is presented at the first performance of our Spring concert. Applications are due by March 15th of each year.
